Trip Itinerary Advice 2 months Spain + Portugal in Aumn

We would love any input for our plans! We are visiting both Spain and Portugal. We are leaving mid september from Amsterdam. We are a couple in our late thirties and like to be outdoors, climbing, hiking, some kitesurfing (still learning), we have SUPs with us, but we definitely like to mix in good food and culture.

We are starting in north of Spain. We have planned two weeks in Basque country to see all the beautiful towns and do some climbing. I have a 4 day hike planned in Picos de Europa from 28 of September. I'm debating about the next stretch after picos, would you advice follow the whole coast and visit Santiago or driving through the central part of Spain, through Léon to Porto. This route would save us some time. I've read about Peneda-Gerês national park, is that worth a visit?

How much time should we plan? We were thinking 3 weeks from Picos de Europa to Lisbon to make time to visit Porto, for climbing around Redinha and Reguengo do Fétal, visit Nazaré and Ericeira, do some kitesurfing in Obidos and visit Sintra for the palaces and bouldering. And then we want to visit Lisbon and from there we want to fly to Madeira for a week, to do the Madeira trail. So that would give us the whole month of Octobre in portugal including Madeira.

We want to skip the Algarve (because I feel this time a year it's a lot of pensioners and also it saves us a lot of driving) and drive from Lisbon to Spain directly. We are (for the same reason) thinking about skipping a lot of the south coast of Spain. We've been to the coast of Andalusia before. So I'm thinking about going from Lisbon to through the midlands of Spain, extremadura, Toledo, Aragon and Zaragoza to Catalonia. Or should we take the more southern route? So Sevilla, Cordoba ... and then? We have been to Albarracin quite a few times so that is not a must for us, but we definitely want to go climbing in Margalef and Siurana.

So the trip would roughly be:
* Basque country

* Picos de Europa

* Drive to Porto, not sure which route yet

* Climbing in Reidnha and reguengo do Fétal

* Nazaré, Ericeira

* Kitesurfing in Obidos

* Sintra

* Lisbon

* Madeira

* Extremadura

* Drive to Toledo, not sure which route yet

* Climbing in Margalef and Siurana

Any tips or advice are welcome!

This route would save us some time. Then we have planned 3 weeks in Portugal. After that back to Spain. We are thinking about skipping a lot of the south coast. We've been to the coast of Andalusia before and I think Costa del Sol is not what we would like, too much tourism and British and Dutch pensioners :). So I'm thinking about going from Lissabon to through the midlands of Spain, extremadura, Toledo, Aragon and Zaragoza to Catalonia. Or should we take the more southern route? So Sevilla, Cordoba ... and then? We have been to Albarracin quite a few times so that is not a must for us, but we definitely want to go climbing in Margalef and Siurana.
