I’ve got a 2016 Yamaha r6, problem is if I hold the starter it will start and run while starter remains held in but as soon as I let go the whole bike dies. I’ve replaced the starter switch, put a new fuel pump in it, and changed the battery all based off of others ideas and my own research but nothing has fixed this problem for me. I just want my bike running again and would much appreciate anyone with an idea or similar experiences.
I have a 2016 Yamaha r6 that I bought used, found out quite a bit was wrong with it when It wouldn’t start after getting it home we ended up working that out and I decided to try to take a lot of it apart and try to find and fix things I found. Well now I’m putting everything back together and have stumbled into a problem again. When I start the bike it shuts off immediately, thinking it was a similar problem to the last time I tried messing with the wires and discovered that the bike will do as mentioned if I ground a wire and won’t start at all if I ground the other. Picture provided is the two wires in question as far as I know they run to the ignition switch but not the main plug this was previously damaged hints why’s it’s spliced instead of connected to a plug. Any help is much appreciated I just want this thing running.
