Car hire in Ireland?

Hi! I'll be in Ireland next week for the first time, and I'll be spending a week there. Where would you recommend hiring a car and what can I expect to pay?

Also, a colleague recommended that I do not book accommodation in advance as there are many B&Bs that I can stop at as I move from town to town. Would you advise this? Or rather booking in advance?

Opinions on NomadSister for Ireland & Turkey for a Muslim Solo Woman

Hi all, I am spending 3 weeks between Ireland and Turkey and my travel will commence next week. I am from South Africa and wear a hijab, and I'm wondering if platforms like NomadSister are still a good idea to try to use, since I am visibly Muslim...

The first week of my accommodation will be booked through my job - it's a week of work and then two weeks of holiday so the timeline is tight and I don't even know if I can find hosts this quickly.

For Ireland, I will start in Dublin for 2 nights, then 1 night in Kilkenny, 1 night in cork, 1 night in Killarney and 2 nights in Galway.

Next is Turkey: I will start with 1 night in Izmir, then 1 night in Pamukkale, 2 nights in Cappadocia and 3 nights in Istanbul.

Any advice would be appreciated.

This will be my fourth solo trip, and I have done one in Europe and two in Asia before. This, however, would be my first time using NomadSister, so any general tips or comments are welcome.

I read that it's generally expected that you will have a meal with your host, which I suppose may be awkward if the food is not halal. I don't know if I am overthinking this, but what is Reddit for, if not the over-thinkers...

Takealot refund processed for R33 instead of R337... Now they are not responding.

I ordered an appliance that didn't work properly and returned it within a few days. The return was processed and approved, and then the refund was loaded to the original payment method of debit card.

I am assuming it was human error that refunded me R33 instead of the R337 I paid. Has anyone else had the same experience?

I'm really frustrated now because they are not responding to me.

Has anyone received a short stay visa (business or tourism) for Ireland recently? I'm supposed to travel in the first week next month but my application status is stuck at "...received at Visa Office - Dublin for processing". I haven't booked flights yet but my short stay work in Ireland starts 8 June and I have no idea if I'll make it.

Any advice would be appreciated.
