bequiet!/ Noctua/Asus
While I’ve been a Noctua and Asus fanboy for as long as I remember, it wasn’t until I saw the Lightbase 900 that I really began to appreciate the bequiet! brand. At the time I was building a new system and I already had a case purchased (Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2), but I kept the Lightbase 900 on my shortlist for my next case.
Fast forward, just over a year later Noctua releases their own AIO and Asus released a special edition ROG Crosshair 2006 motherboard which just so happened to resolve a pcie5 bifurcation limitation I had with my X870E Hero board which limited the GPU slot to x8 when using two x4 pcie5 hard drives. I was also vibing with the potential Noctua, bequiet! and copper/black aesthetic of the board.
Functional improvements have included lower CPU, GPU and memory temps, much quieter operation and the x16 bandwidth on the pcie GPU slot with multiple 4x pcie 5 hard drives. I also dig the look.
