Unconventional infect commanders?

Hey everyone, a few buddies want to do something ridiculous and basically have deck boxes and sleeves that give the opposite "vibe" of the commander. I settled on potentially doing an infect deck with [[Otrimi, the Ever-Playful]]. Or at least have infect as a sub-theme lol. It would give the opposite vibe because it looks like a cat whos ready to jump you lol. I mean look at em

Obviously, though, mutate is an old and not widely supported mechanic, and so I've been looking for other options.

But the more I look around, the less I can find. So far, the only other options I could find were [[Saskia the Unyielding]], [[Slimefoot, the Stowaway]], [[MacCready, Lamplight Mayor]], and [[Jin Sakai, Ghost of Tsushima]].

Other stuff seems too mainstream like [[Brimaz, Blight of Oreskos]], [[High Perfect Morcant]], [[Vishgraz, the Doomhive]], [[Ria Ivor, Bane of Bladehold]], and [[Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa]]. There's nothing wrong with that per-say but if the infect stuff doesn't work out, then I want to potentially salvage the deck with other mechanics or cards.

Am I just looking too much into this? Should I just play one of the precon commanders? They seem to be less threatening while actually being able to do stuff with infect. But at the same time I feel like theres so much untapped potential out there with some many other cool commanders

What do you think?

I need to see your favorite deck.

I do not care what it is. It can be literally any deck. From Bracket 1 - 5. From Atraxa superfriends to niche commander #3001 on edhrec. Control to aggro and all in between. I do not care. It can be literally ANYTHING. Hell, tell me your favorite precon, I do not care. I would love to hear about it. Show me your deck!

Earlier, I asked about people's favorite black commanders, and a pair I saw pretty often was [[Burakos, Party Leader]] and [[Haunted one]]. It brought some pretty interesting interactions! He is also paired with [[folk hero]], which seemed pretty tame until I playtested it for myself and realized how much black/white can do for him.

There are quite a few backgrounds and pairs that can be made with these commanders, and it makes me interested in what people like. I enjoy how, despite having different effects, you can change them out or have multiple of them active in the same deck (makes me wonder what you can do if you had parter commanders with backgrounds active). They all look fun, and the art is amazing. [[veteran soldier]], [[folk hero]], and [[inspiring leader]] are my favorite art-wise.

Been looking at some Phyrexian cards and came across the Phyrexian Praetors with sagas on the back. I've never seen these cards played, nor have I even heard of them, which makes me wonder if it's because they are terrible. I got phyrexian sleeves from Magic Con Vegas, and I'm still deciding on what to do with them. Whether or not I want to stay on a phyreixan theme, be mono colored, or just sleeve it with whatever. These sleeves are somewhat important to me, though, considering I was only able to snag one of each before they sold out, and I guess they are exclusive to that con specifically,s which I find pretty lame

What do you think? Are they worth playing as commanders or the 99?

Mono black or a color identity with black is fine.

I am trying to find some fun and possibly thematic commanders for these Sheoldred sleeves I got in Vegas. They look like this: https://x.com/DragonShield_/status/2049111801346834559

The obvious choice would just be a Sheoldred commander, but she is pretty infamous already, and I do not want to have a target on my back, turn 0. My friends are very aware of what she does and actively target anyone who plays it, thanks to someone making it their commander and another having it in their Valgavoth deck.

I never really played black before, so I have no idea what I would be looking for, but I do enjoy Simic and Boros, so maybe I can find something in the middle of those two.

I just got home from magic con vegas today, and I have these red Urabrask sleeves that Dragon Shield was exclusively selling at the con, and I want to make a mono-red deck with them. Here's what they look like --> https://x.com/DragonShield_/status/2049111801346834559

So far, the two mono red commanders that have piqued my interest are [[Urabrask]] from MOM because it would fit the sleeves I'm using lol as well as an interesting mechanic, and [[Mica, Reader of Ruins]] because imagine all of the crazy things you can do by destroying a measly treasure token because they are sooooooo hard to make in mono red. (or maybe I can make them both commanders for the same deck?)

But if there's any other cool mono-red commanders you guys could suggest, I would love to see them. At the moment, the only other mono-red deck I have is a goblin deck with [[purphoros god of the forge]] as the commander and [[krenko mob boss]] as the second commander
