Always use captions so you can doomscroll and fuck around on your computer during calls. Sometimes I even listen to music on a very low volume of course, it makes it feel like I'm more disconnected from the call and my cortisol is never spiked now. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO DO THIS SHITTY ASS JOB LONG TERM WITHOUT BURNOUT.

I understand that this job is stupid and unnecessary and IA should've replaced us ages ago and everyone thinks we're just a hassle but some fucking appreciation would be fucking nice.

The other day at the end of the call the client told me "you were excellent" and it was like literally the most ordinary call ever for me. I was literally just reading my captions and like doomscrolling on my phone and just doing random shit on my computer

It got me thinking about all the fucking calls where I actually went the extra mile, where I actually put some fucking effort, where I handled difficulty situations really fucking well, how many calls I actually was "excellent" and no one gave a fuck and just hung up before I could do my outro script. All the calls where I actually did go the extra mile and it went completely unappreciated.

Fellow interpreters, they already treat us as fucking robots, they pay us pennies, no one cares about us, we're just a voice that they call to comply with the fucking regulations. Do not ever be nice unless they're being particularly kind to you. Do your job as effortlessly as possible, no one gives a fuck about us

Lep kept giving long ass segments and speaking unintelligibly at mach 5. At one point she also started interrupting client as the call started getting heated. I disconnected my ethernet cable. I'm not gonna let some fucking lepito stress me the fuck out because she is illiterate and self-absorbed and doesn't wanna listen to a word the REP is telling her. I don't give a fuck anymore. From now on you either give me short and clear sentences like I reminded you several fucking times theoughout the call or you get no interpreting service from me. I'm not gonna spike my cortisol over 0.12/minute.

these calls are becoming insufferable like I thought since its OPI mostly it would be easier cuz my last job was mostly VRI but OPI is fucking hell. these mfers think grabbing any shitty ass phone and putting it on speakerphone across the fucking room is a fucking good idea, and when these regarded LEPs who cant make a coherent sentence if their life depended on it start whispering 1min long segments at mach 7 clients start to get mad at me, and today I already had a client just hung up on me cuz she gave up and probably thought that it was my fault that the LEP wasn't making much sense. I can feel my CSAT going down to hell. I started taking notes again even though I didn't need to when I took mostly VRI at my last job and even then I can't keep up with the dogshit fucking audio and these mfers that think giving 1min long segments is reasonable. It's not even the fact that it's B2B exhausting, it's the fucking quality of the fucking calls that come in, they're all so shit and obviously when there's any kind of communication problem I'm always to blame no matter what. Bitch if you make my job impossible then of course I'm gonna do a shit job. Like what the fuck are these calls. I literally started loving L&D calls now because even though they're excruciatingly long they're so chill. and every VRI call in general is so much better because the audio isn't dogshit and the motherfuckers actually respect protocol.

I used the notepad on my PC during the mock test in Propio. Then I remembered that it is not advised to do so because they might disqualify you because they think you might be using some assistance tool. I only opened notepad++. am I cooked?

In my company I'm seeing lots of low customer service rates because the clients were upset by the fact that they were called provider, saying things like "Dont call doctors provider, call them doctor" "Dont call doctors provider, ask how they like to be called"

Is this reasonable? As far as I know, provider is a general term for health service provider including doctors, and even if I'm wrong it doesn't seem like an important detail specially considering how mentally taxing interpreting is. Personally I don't have the brain RAM to be thinking about what the client likes to be called.

Resulta que tengo agendada una entrevista con Propio directo, lo cual realmente me interesa mucho. Pero también he aprobado el assesment de un outsourcer que también me interesa pero no tanto y están preguntandome cual es mi disponibilidad. Lo de Propio aún no esta confirmado al 100%, asi que no quiero cancelar la otra oferta, pero tampoco quiero aceptar sabiendo que podría meterme a Propio.... Cómo ganarían tiempo para mantener el contacto con ambas empresas 😅?

Me postulé por segunda vez a Propio y me llega el email de confirmación diciendo que recibieron mi CV, pero nunca me dicen nisiquiera que me rechazaron. Cuánta experiencia tengo que tener para que me consideren? Me da miedo mentir en la aplicación porque no se si verifican mucho la información.
