Necrofactorium modular warjacks tables and charts

Necrofactorium modular warjacks tables and charts

Hi all! I was curious to see the spread in cost of all Malefactor builds (64), Raptor builds (16) and Hellraker builds (8, but really 6 because of duplicate weapons), so I built a little something in Excel to find out. You can find the sheet here:

Perhaps somebody else finds this interesting and/or helpful as well!

Lore question: Grendel

Hi all! Does anyone know if Grendel is the personal warjack of one of the Necrofactorium warcasters? Hades is Nekane's, that we know. Grendel comes in a box with Sepsira, but I haven't seen anything yet that presumes they belong together.

Hades and soul collection

So, our boy Hades has an awesome cannon with RNG 12 and a Soul Taker rule with a 10" radius. I've heard people say that the rules for the Soul Cannon don't explicitly say that it can capture a soul for Hades outside of his 10" bubble, only that it grants him the choice which model with a Soul Taker rule gets it. And then they say that said model will have to be in range of that soul as well to get it (so within their own Soul Taker rule bubble). After all, the rule only says regardless of proximity, not regardless of range.

I'm quite sure Hades just gets to shoot something and take the soul even outside of his Soul Taker bubble, as well as chuck that soul to any eligible model regardkess of where they are in the battlefield, but can I prove that to doubters by pointing that out in the rules? Or are they right that the rules just don't cover this?

2026 Necrofactorium battle reports or podcast episodes?

Hi all! I was wondering if there are battle reports or podcast episodes featuring Necrofactorium in its current 2026 iteration? I've found several older things, but none so far that are recent (like 'new' Nekane). Love to hear!

Frenzies and weapons with Single Shot

So, a Fane of Nyrro question today: when a Strygon or warlock applies the Provoke animus on a Vordak with Toothy Maw, which is a Single Shot weapon (so you can only use it once per round), after it has activated, I assume you use another weapon to resolve the frenzy instead of the Toothy Maw? After all, you can't use the weapon with the highest POW as the rules stipulate.

Also, when does Single Shot consider the round done? When said Vordak would activate in the Activation Phase, uses Toothy Maw and then frenzies in his next round in the Control Phase, could he use Toothy Maw again or is that considered too early? In other words, does the rule look at 'a round' or 'the round'?

One can dream: Rhyas and Saeryn, United in Darkness

Funny enough, while I've played a lot of Legion in the days of yore, I never played with either Rhyas or Saeryn (or their later warlock unit). That said, I do really like the storyline that has unfolded with the twins since their inception all the way through the current status quo with the Khymaera. There's a blatant symmetry to the faction's two armies (even if we haven't seen the other one yet), and IMHO this is one of the few factions in which both two cadres mesh aesthetically well with the army we have and hopefully also the one we still need to get.

Having read Emergence (on the app) several times, and seeing models added to Khymaera along the way, I was really hoping for the titular ladies themselves to make an appearance. We already managed to get Lylyth into the faction, which is awesome, and obviously we still get to see Saeryn's Emberfrost Shard at some point (hopefully sooner then later!).

I do hope, at this point, that everbody has either read Emergence or has learned about it from online sources. For here's my dream: Rhyas and Saeryn as a single warlock. Thematically it makes sense, with the twins having started out as two separate 'locks, then becoming a single warlock unit and ultimately a single hybrid warlock. After all, these women share a single soul (and would be the only non-soulless model in the faction, if I'm correct).

Emergence sketches Rhyas' struggle not to give in to the draconic impulses emanating from the two joined athancs in her body. As the story develops, Saeryn asserts herself ever more in the 'internal' side of things while Rhyas ever more frequently needs to 'Dragon Out' to meet challengers like Thagrosh, up to the point that Saeryn manifests herself as a second head on the twins' ever more joint body. We also see, in lore blurbs like on the Shard Incarnates, Shard Nocturnes and Shadow Seraph, that Rhyas and Saeryn increasingly butt heads (figuratively speaking, so far) as Saeryn becomes ever more powerful and less of a backseat driver in Rhyas' body.

What I'd love to see, and we've already seen it in the lore, is these two becoming a single warlock. Following Emergence, their size should at least be 50 mm, but as literal head(s) of the faction and having Lylyth already being 50 mm, 80 mm would be more appropriate. If I really may dream, I'd push for 120 mm to really set the twins apart from our already two superheavy beasts. After all, as demonstrated, Rhyas and Saeryn are now effectively dragons in their own right and with that comes a singular will to dominate... so wouldn't it be awesome to have them take a page from Sturm & Drang and having to choose which of the twins dominates every round? Who knows, a feat that lets them combine their abilities (Harmonious Conjunction would be a stellar name) might have them find balance if even for a single round.

To top it all off, I'd love Rhyas and Saeryn, United in Darkness, to be a cadre warlock without further models in said cadre, so they can either head a Shadowflame or an Emberfrost force.

Who's with me?

Where to start Khymaera cascually, slow-grow and on a small budget?

Hi all! I'm debating to get a 30pts Khymaera force, so I can play with mates pitting that against the Necrofactorium Command Starter I already have. While my old playgroup plays competitive 100pts standard, I don't see myself getting there all to soon and am looking more at the casual front. Though, working up to something that can be competitive is of course never a bad thing!

I also have the notion of expanding Khymaera sooner then Necrofactorium, so I'm looking at a good place to start. Obviously, we have Kyrrax and Vallyx with there cadres to pick from. While I'm under the impression that Kyrrax' box might be more interesting long-term, I do very much like the sculpts and rules of the Shard Nocturnes.

Which of these two boxes would you pick with the above in mind, and why?

P.S. Is it true that the Hydrix in Shyryss's box (and perhaps even the lone box as well) doesn't have all the options, as in double smaller heads? Inquiring minds would love to know...

Khador Great Bear with Slammer Head and Heavy Cannon

Hi all! I'll be playing against Khador in a month's time and my mate and I have a question. We're under the impression that a Khador Great Bear with Slammer Head and Heavy Cannon would be able to hit a small- or medium-based target up to the cannon's range of 12", slam it D3+2" due to Grand Slam, and then Follow Up the ridiculous distance between itself and the slammed target (effectively 14+D3"). After all, nowhere in the rules does it say that the Grand Slam and Follow Up only work on power attack slams. Are we missing something?

Playing with Nekane?

Hi all! I'm slowly painting my Necrofactorium Command Starter, and at some point I'd like to play some games. I've got enough opponents and opposing armies to choose from, but word on the streets (that is, our Warmachine app group) is that Nekane is the worst caster in the army and perhaps even one of the worst in the game. That idea makes me very sad, because she and her accompanying models are rooted in the lore and that's why I chose this box to start out with.

While I resolve to see for myself if and for how much that is a fact, I do have to admit feeling a bit cautious and let down on my anticipation with playing Nekane. Obviously no caster shines in a 30pts battle, and bigger battles means more options, but I'm deliberately slow-growing this army and I don't want to rush into more purchases just to make this caster workable (or to replace her with another caster).

Do any of you have experience with Nekane, either with or against? Any favourite interactions, cool combos, things to steer away from, etc.? I'd love to hear from you all!

App fiction sequence?

Hi all! There is a bunch of fiction in the app, and I'm getting a bit lost on the proper chronological sequencing. Is there a proper reading order? How do Interstitials fit onto it? Thanks in advance!
