Do we participate in the banquet or not?

I recently participated in The Taste of Death's quest, and my question arose if we as a character participated in the banquet? Because Eola gives us the option of killing brother Verulo and at no time is it visible that we participate in the banquet or that the game gives us an object referring to Verulo, if they give us the ring, but it is not equitable to the other. What do you think?
