Which bow should I get next: the Huno Velox 35# or the snake-painted 40# bow?

The Huno Velox is made in Brazil by a brand with a well-established reputation for quality. It normally comes in 35#, but after talking to the owner of Velox, I found out they can increase the draw weight up to a maximum of 45# if requested. It has a rubberized finish, is takedown for easy transport, and has a simple black-and-red design that I still think looks great.

The other bow is sold as a "Mongolian" bow. Obviously it isn't an authentic Mongolian bow—it's simply inspired by Asian designs and made in China from fiberglass. I wouldn't call it poor quality, but it's definitely more of an unknown. What really stands out to me is the snakeskin-style paint job. As a biology student, I'm really drawn to that look and feel like it suits me.

Both bows cost exactly the same. However, the Brazilian-made Velox has shipping costs, which makes it a bit more expensive overall, while the other one ships for free. The Velox bows have a strong reputation, higher build quality, and plenty of reviews online, whereas I can't find much information about the other one.

I'm planning to buy one of them in the future, but I'm still undecided. Which one would you recommend?

My First Bow

I just bought my first bow. It's a Vixion, from Brazil, although I know the parts are sourced from China. It was affordable and is rated up to 50 pounds at a 30-inch draw length. However, I believe my draw length is around 28 inches, so I'm probably shooting somewhere around 40 pounds, more or less. It's still quite powerful and really hurts my fingers.

What bothers me about this bow is that it's ambidextrous and doesn't have an arrow rest. I tried making one myself, but it didn't work very well. The arrows don't stay properly aligned and there's very little support. I plan to buy a magnetic arrow rest to solve that problem.

Still, for an inexpensive bow, I think it was worth it. In the future, I'd like to buy higher-quality bows.
