Trying to figure out how to handle debt and retirement plans. I’m at a complete loss!

We have never planned to pay off our house. We’ve only ever wanted to have enough equity in it to buy/build something smaller in an area with a much lower cost of living. We already own a piece of property there and we have about $120k of equity in our house. We can afford a small mortgage if we need it. I’m certain that we can make this part happen the way we want. We will have a pretty good retirement income and a 401k that we may not have to touch.
The problem is that we are currently carrying far too much credit card debt and
I don’t know the best way to get rid of it.
Does it make ANY sense at all to use some of the equity in our home now to pay down the higher interest rate debt before we move on?

Gabapentin - Intense Depression Side Effects?

I have been on Gabapentin for about a month. I’ve been amazed at how well my back pain has been controlled. It’s probably 1/2 most of the day right now.

But, I’ve noticed since about the 3rd week, my depression and anxiety have absolutely skyrocketed. I do have a few stressful things going on but this is not me. I am not myself right now. I’ve been crying for about 3 days now. I’ve been so anxious I can’t eat. I literally feel afraid. Like scared. Every thought is dark and the least little thing spirals into the absolute worst case scenario it could possibly be. I’m not going to hurt myself or anyone else. But I feel like it would be okay if the wind just blew me away.
I’ve already called my doctor. The information says that I shouldn’t just stop it cold because worse things can happen. Apparently, even a month is enough to create a potential issue with stopping. So, I’m afraid to do anything at all right now and I’m waiting to hear back from my doctor for help.

I thought it might help me to know whether anyone else has been through this and to know that they came out okay on the other side. ♥️

Working with an ADHD boss…..

How do you all handle working with a girl boss who very clearly fits the profile of an ADHD woman who is undiagnosed and untreated and completely unaware of the fact? She is a pretty successful person on the outside but her private office world is a complete train wreck. She goes through staff like a box of tissues because she can’t remember what she’s said or done or what instructions she’s given (or not given). She’s oblivious to the fact that the missed calls and missed appointments and billing that’s 4 months behind, is actually her fault. I’ll admit that I have my days with my own ADHD but I work REALLY hard and I have developed lots of tools over the years that definitely help me stay on task and organized.
I really love the job and I don’t want to leave but it’s extremely disheartening to be lashed out at for scheduling an appointment that she’s forgotten she asked me to set. I even use a special message sheet that I made up. Just a small paper with room at the top for me to give her the details of the message and a section at the bottom for her the write the instructions for what she wants me to do with it. I can even write on it again to say exactly what I did afterwards. And I can keep the whole thing on one piece of paper. Rather than her sticking post its on everything. It also gives me proof of what she asked me for. But I can’t get her to use it!
I’m drowning in “mistakes” simply because I can’t read her mind.
I know from my own experience how hard it can be. But I also know that there are things that can make life easier if you’ll just use them.
Has anyone experienced something similar and were you able to overcome it somehow??
