Possible to get DEC birth certificate without official death certificate?

My G0 passed away in Massachusetts, but the town where they passed does not allow genealogical research/requests to be done remotely. I live over a thousand miles from this town, and per their website and a phone call with their office, the only way to conduct genealogical research through their vital records office is to physically appear in their office and search the records yourself. I haven’t been able to get my G0s death certificate because Massachusetts only published « death indexes » for people at the time she passed (approximately 1950-1970), and they have not responded to any of my attempts to seek her death certificate. I found her death recorded in the index, but the only info provided there is the year and town in which she passed, and her name. I’ve been trying to get this document for months to no avail. Does anybody have a suggestion on how to get her death certificate?? It seems DEC won’t issue retroactive birth certificates unless you can produce a death certificate, which I currently don’t have access to, this feels a little impossible.

Edit to add: I have requested this information from the state vital records office multiple times and have not received any response unfortunately. I forgot to include this earlier cause I wasn’t quite awake when I made the post 🫠

Any hiccups w/customs once application is processing?

Hey folks, my friends and I are tentatively planning a small trip up to the border to check out the new bridge. The last time I went through that crossing my car was packed with stuff and we got pulled into secondary, and we were asked about if any of us had applied for visas or anything to work in Canada. I just figured I’d ask if anybody had encountered issues when trying to cross the border once their C3 proof application hit the processing stage? Any feedback is helpful. Thank you!

Sending App for a Minor - Signature Question

Hi folks,

Sorry if this is a silly or redundant question, I don't recall seeing anything about it elsewhere, but if you're sending an application for a child (without the application for their parent, which has been sent separately), would it be a good idea to include a copy of the parent's ID documents so IRCC can match the signature on the application to the signature of the parent?

Any feedback is appreciated, thank you!
