End of the day

End of the day

I think that after mowing the yard, trimming some hedges, using the weed trimmer and then cleaning and sweeping everything up (and discovering a new yellow jacket's nest by being stung by one of the little bastards), I deserve a little of this.

Comparison

Disregarding a caliber comparison, can anyone comment on the size and weight differences between a Stallion Birds Head .38 special 3 1/2 inch barrel (1.8 lbs)

Vs

Cimarron Lightning Birds Head.32 H&R Magnum 4 3/4 inch barrel (cannot find a published weight)?

ADVICE NEEDED

I have moved into this house and I need advice. This photo shows how I found it when i moved in.

SKILL LEVEL: Not a professional plumber or handyman. I can repair and modify things that make sense to me (replace sinks, fixtures, vanities, toilets). I properly converted a previous home from galvanized to pex. I'm capable of cutting out the old cast iron.

PROBLEM: I am getting some siphoning at TUB DRAIN when I flush TOILET A.

QUESTION: If I'm going to re-route any fixture drain to a point in the cast iron drain that would alleviate the siphoning, I would just as soon pull the cast iron and replace it all with PVC. In what sequence (going from right to left in the photo) should I make my connections to the new PVC main?

EDIT: There is a P-trap for the tub drain; it's old metal and hard to see in the photo

Service price differences

I contacted my local Ford dealership where I purchased my 2024 Maverick and asked specifically for a "transmission drain and refill". I was quoted $399 for the service.

I contacted another Ford dealership about 20 miles away and they quoted $289 for the same service (and stated around $400 for a FLUSH and fill).

I spoke again with my local dealership and asked them if they had mixed up the pricing and they said no, we charge the same price whether it is a Drain and Fill or a Flush and Fill 😡

Is there anything that I'm missing here or should I just plan on taking it to the dealership who agreed to the cheaper drain and fill only?
