From what i know about Goenka, he will even go 50cr+ for Vaibhav if Vaibhav comes into auction. I hope these kinda extreme numbers won't make his or his parents head turn. Yesterday we conceded 16 extras. In the match against GT, we conceded 19.
We conceded 10+ extras in 8 out of 12 matches. And one of those matches was an 11 overs match.
150 extras from just 12 matches. This is very unacceptable. I don't think any other team will be even close to us in this aspect.
Giving so much extras are hurting us very much.
Both yesterday and GT match it shifted the momentum early on.
And it's denting our nrr as well.

CSK vs GT is both teams last match. If this game has to have a good effect on us, then both of them should lose their previous match/es.
Same with Punjab. If Punjab loses their match against Mumbai. Their next game is against RCB. Either rcb or punjab will lose that match which could potentially benefit us. But if punjab wins against mumbai, the effect of rcb vs punjab is reduced. And if punjab loses against mi , their next match against rcb means either rcb or punjab has to lose. If its punjab who loses,then they will only get 15 points maximum. If it's rcb that loses, their next match will be against srh(14 points) which can also potentially benefit us. (srh's other match is against csk)

How many times are we supposed to see this pattern again and again.
Atleast most of the fans didn't have any hope during the start of the season anyway. Nobody was optimistic about our bowling anyway.
They made us hope. Then they let us down again. But we knew the history. So we were prepared for this somewhat. Even if we somehow manage to win the next two matches don't be hopeful again. We will likely choke again. It won't be the first time.
Only thing that hurts me is how they have ruined the fort. They changed the pitch. And it doesn't suit our team anymore. The fort is done and dusted.
Somehow even after 51 (+1) matches no teams are yet out of the playoff race. (Ofc this is not unusual normally. But this season had a clear difference between the the top and bottom halfs which has reduced in the past week)
But if this has to continue, tomorrow and day after tomorrow demands a win from all three bottom three teams - LSG, MI and DC. Who do you think will manage to cling on and who do you expect to finally be knocked out of the tournament.

If punjab qualifies and we fail to qualify for playoffs Priyansh will get the playoff matches advantage.
Vaibhav is ahead of Priyansh right now. But they are close. If they end up with almost equal stats , the poll may give Priyansh an advantage.
It would have been fine if Vaibhav was eligible for next season's emerging player award as well. But the updated criteria is showing that player should be uncapped. So if Vaibhav gets his India call, he won't be eligible next year.
But I am baffled by this vote percentage. Priyansh has been good. But Vaibhav clearly has an edge over him atleast until now.

If they lose today, the maximum points LSG can get will be 12. And three teams already have crossed that. With GT vs RR match one of them is also sure to cross the 12 points mark. Means a lose today means LSG is officially knocked out of the playoffs. The (E) will be shown beside their team name. But a win today, though helps LSG stay alive for another round actually profits other teams like RR, GT, CSK, PBKS and so on much more.
This is silly. But when I checked the schedule and points table it reminded me of 2014. Mumbai has a veryy slight chance of qualifying to playoffs. It's even very low compared to their situation in 2014 after the same number of matches, that pages are already posting they are knocked out. But there is chance. And our last league match is against MI. If we lose 2 of our next 3 matches and if MI wins their next 4 matches , we may play in the same conditions we played in 2014. Not this sh** again😅. The changing style of IPL has created an overall confusion. Nobody knows what a safe score is anymore. So the best thing to do at least in the night game is to choose bowling if you get the toss. At least in the night matches.
In this IPL only 5 times have teams choose to bat first in the night games. And the only win is our win against GT. We barely won that game. Why are we batting first then. Clearly chasing teams are winning way more matches.
SRH sent us to bat first in the same ground last time. And they comfortably chased 229. And yet we had to opt to bat first. IDIOTIC DECISION...
What Gayle did way back is actually insane. Even if Vaibhav hit 60 sixes Gayle's 59's stature will be bigger. But records are records. And the chase is on 🔥. It's not a guaranteed success for Vaibhav yet. And that's what make it interesting.

So I checked the future schedules of other top teams. And it looks somewhat good for us.
The three teams above us are Punjab Kings, RCB, and SRH
These three have matches against each other.
PBKS vs RCB
PBKS vs SRH
SRH vs RCB
And we don't have match remaining against any of them.
So eventually some of them have to lose and some will have to win. If we manage to perform well so we could improve our position in the points table.
And another thing is the biggest threat for our playoff chance and the current number 5 - GT has matches against us, RCB, PBKS and SRH. Which is also half good for us. But at the same time CSK can possibly become a threat in the future as well if we loose back to back.
But overall if we manages to win decent amount of matches we can be in a really good position since other top 4 teams in top 5 has matches against each others.
