Struggling to Balance Making Connections and Social Energy - Anyone Relate?

I’ve been thinking a lot about wanting to meet new people and build stronger friendships, but then feeling completely drained when it comes to keeping up with social commitments. It’s like I want the connections, but my social battery just doesn’t match the effort required.

Does anyone else experience this? How do you balance wanting meaningful connections with not burning yourself out? I’d love to hear your strategies or advice for staying social without feeling completely wiped.

34M – camping/hiking mates? also want to try D&D

Just a guy in London looking for people around my age (UK based) who actually want to get outside: hikes, camping, don't mind travelling a bit further either.

Also always wanted to try D&D but never had a group. Total beginner here, so if you're patient or also new, even better.

Drop a comment or DM if you fancy a muddy walk or rolling some dice. No pressure, just seeing who's out there.

App update 🤔

My theory on the latest app update is Couchsurfing is politely and secretly being run into the ground by Airbnb and Booking.com 😅

Try to come up with a better theory than that!

Proper Horror Only: Looking for genuinely disturbing film recommendations

Need horror film recommendations. Not thrillers, not slow burns pretending to be horror. I want genuinely disturbing, atmospheric horror. The kind that stays with you.

Any subgenre welcome, just make it scary or deeply unsettling.

Beginner cook trying to learn East Asian food, any tips?

Recently started dabbling in East Asian cooking and I’m properly enjoying it so far.

Made a green curry for the first time and it was absolutely banging. Tried to recreate it a second time and somehow made soemthing that just tasted like green cocunut water...

Would love any beginner tips, tricks, or advice from people who cook this kind of food regularly.

• Essential ingredients worth always having?

• Easy dishes to learn first?

• Any YouTube channels you’d recommend?

• Best ways to actually build flavour properly?

Trying to get beyond basic survival cooking and make food that actually tastes good consistently.

Anyone here camp with a dog that has a really high prey drive?

I’m thinking about doing more camping trips with my Vizsla, but his prey drive is STRONG. Rabbits, squirrels, foxes, moving leaves that look suspiciously rabbit-ish, the man is ready for the chase.

Would love to hear from people who’ve actually managed this successfully.

A few questions:

• Any tips or tricks that made camping easier? Long line, type fo tent or no long line?

• How do you manage nighttime wandering/noises outside the tent?

• Any training that helped before your first trip?

• Do your dogs eventually settle, or are they on woodland patrol all night?

• Any gear you swear by?

▲ 96 r/Gundam

I just watched Gundam 00, and man, I forgot how good it is. All I'm saying is I feel really wholesome after watching it, and it's definitely going back up into my top 5 anime. Anyone else have a similar feeling rewatching a series?

Hey folks, I've got a brilliant Vizsla who is affectionate and pretty well-behaved. One issue I have is his licking constantly new people or anyone in general. He becomes a bit overwhelming and doesn't realise it. I've struggled to train it out of him, especially if I'm not there. Any advice?
