I’ve been looking at Toyota Highlanders for a couple weeks and found a 2019 Limited AWD that checks most of my boxes. It’s the color I want, under 100k miles (89k), clean Carfax, and the first owner maintained it well for 5 years. Originally listed at $29k, I got them down to $27.5k, but KBB still seems lower for the mileage and condition.
A few things are making me hesitant though:
It’s been sitting on the lot for 70 days
Dealer initially told me it had 1 owner, then later admitted it had 2
Second owner only kept it 7 months
Ventilated seats don’t work
Hole in leather seat
Scraped rim
I do plan on getting a PPI because Toyotas are expensive right now and I want to be careful. I like the car, but I’m trying to figure out if $27.5k is actually worth it or if these are red flags.

I liked it. But it was priced a little high according to Kelly blue book. Originally priced at $29k. Got them to come down to $27.5k it’s been sitting on the lot for 70 days and has a good carfax. Carguru said it only had 1 previous owner, and the sales lady said it’s had 2 previous owners. When I asked her to clarify she said the dealership was considered the 2nd owners??????However once I was there to test drive it the guy clarified ownership again and said NO it’s had 2 previous owners owners. I thought it was strange. Anyways 1st owner had it for 5yrs and maintained well 0 accidents ever reported. 2nd owner only had it for 7 months??? I plan on getting a PPI for it cause Toyotas are expensive rn and I’m being careful which one I buy. Ventilated seats also are not working and there’s a hole in one of the leather seats so honestly. How much should this vehicle be worth? Idk if $27.5k is worth it considering miles and defects. But I do like it. It’s at a somewhat small family owned dealership and idk if these are some red flags or not. Sitting for 70 days. Sales lady conflicted with actual previous number of owners. Ventilated seats not working. Hole in leather. Scraped rim.
