The more raw/glazing your equipment description is the stronger the monster is.

Pretty standard but I was reading through the descriptions of some monster weapons the other day and it really does just correlate pretty well.

Bottom rung:

Someone has to be nature's punching bag, and that's you.

> Lavish use of butter-soft Jagras hide makes this great sword feel like an extension of its user.

A nice bit of glaze, to be expected of a hunter who honed starting gear to its height.

Middle Rung:

Not at the top and certainly not at the bottom, either way you'll hold your own if they come around.

> An Anjanath's fire within, this forged blade carves prey asunder in a single stroke.

More focus on the monster, glazing both the power of the monster and the power of the weapon . Let's you know that you're using the power of the monster to fight with.

Apex Predator:

Top of the food chain baby, unless some freak comes in you're the boss of this city.

> The final form of the Storm Sword rules the seas with an iron fist.

Now at the apex tier its not just about the weapon itself being strong but rather its strong enough to effect the world itself.

Elder Dragon/Elder Level:

Your standard elders, might be the fake out of low/high rank or a nice challenge in G-Rank/Master Rank.

> A Raging Brachydios hammer that reshapes the land and proclaims its godlike power to all witnesses.

> A symbol of the Ceadeus's pride. It can fell 10,000 monsters in a single blow.

The glaze rises yet higher, not only are you capable of changing the world but you're capable of mass destruction as well.

Final Boss Tier:

This is reserved for the final bosses, the real freaks of a given game.

> Dual Blades with the power of the black god. The bearer carries the sin of deicide.

> Sever the chain of woe binding the living to their desires with these Shara Ishvalda dual blades.

> The Gold Great Sword's final form. It belonged to a god of the world beyond the darkness outside.

At this level the glaze stops even being natural, these are weapons wielded by the divine and have dominion over abstract concepts.

Scary Tier:

You know who these monsters are.

> An Alatreon blade of purple light. The bearer must cease being human and choose dragonhood.

> A mythical Hammer that once turned the world into a sea of fire. It heralds the end times.

> The great scythe with an ancient Fatalis's argent gleam. Even the blood it draws fears touching it.

The glaze is unnatural at this point, like the monsters their parts are made of. These weapons aren't just strong they're dangerous. People go missing, fear runs rampant, the world ends. Saved for the top of the top. Beyond the realm of even the gods, nothing but destruction awaits.

But yeah, I was bored at work and wanted to write something. Maybe I'm talking out of my ass but the weapon descriptions are raw as fuck, a little bit of underappreciated flavor to Monster Hunter's
