Moving to Pensacola with husband- looking for advice My husband is currently at NAS Pensacola for Navy training, and I’m planning to move to Pensacola to be with him. His school is expected to be around 4 months.

I’m trying to figure out the best way to handle the move, including finding work in Pensacola and possibly leaving my current job.

For those who have moved to Pensacola for a spouse’s Navy orders/training:

• How was the transition for you?
• What areas do you recommend living in?
• Is it difficult to find a job there?
• Is it worth moving for a 4-month school, or would you wait?
• Anything you wish you had known before moving to Pensacola?

My husband is currently in Navy boot camp and is expected to go to A School in Pensacola afterward. I’m trying to understand how it works for spouses.

Has anyone here been able to move to Pensacola while their spouse was in A School? Were you allowed to live off base together, or did you have to wait until after A School? How long was the process, and do you have any advice?
