My project Sil40

Took me 2 years to put this front end together. So many little details that you don't think about until they show up, and still a few left to address, but I'm happy with how it turned out. Now I simply need a full respray, an interior overhaul, and new wheels 👍🏻

My current top 10 (From a relatively new fan)

So I rediscovered Korn almost two years ago. I knew a couple of their songs (Got the Life, FOAL) thanks to my older brother who used to blast these songs when I was a kid, and when I heard these songs again, I went DEEP in the rabbit hole. At first I didn't like much outside of Follow The Leader or Issues, but as my taste 'refined' and my hunger for more Korn grew, my liked songs on Spotify slowly but surely became flooded with Korn.

So here is my list. I feel it is heavily dependent on whatever it is I'm going through in life, but a few songs have cemented their spot on my list. Those songs will be marked with an asterisk (*)

  1. Good God *

  2. I'm Done

  3. Let's Do This Now

  4. Hating

  5. Let The Dark Do The Rest

  6. Reward The Scars

  7. Got The Life *

  8. Break Some Off *

  9. Need To *

  10. Counting *

(Justifications below)

Counting - I wasn't the biggest fan of this song the first couple times I heard it, but that chorus always stuck with me and I relate to the lyrics of this song the most. It has been my go-to song whenever I feel depressed, angry, or even just annoyed for a while now. That specific anger-releasing quality it has is super underrated imo.

Need To - I absolutely love the bass in this song (especially in the intro) and I love Jonathan's vocals in the chorus. It's peak young JD imo.

Break Some Off - Jonathan's singing along with the bass and the subtle guitar.. it's so damn smooth. Then they go absolutely crazy in the chorus and even crazier in the bridge. I love it.

Got The Life - I don't listen to this one as much as I used to, probably because I've heard it all my life, but I feel this is peak Korn. It's my go-to song whenever I want to introduce someone to Korn.

Reward The Scars - I know this just came out but I don't care. I love the idea of it. The fact that they can still put out bangers after 30+ years is so sick. It's catchy, Ra is bringing back the bass, and it introduced me to Diablo which I am having a blast with.

Let The Dark Do The Rest - literally fell in love with this song a couple weeks ago. This semester was tough and this song gives me a sense of relief. Also love the bass despite it not being the old style.

Hating - I feel like this song has some of the best instrumentation in all of their discography, as well as some of the best vocals. That breakdown goes crazy too.

Let's Do This Now - super heavy song and more than anything I love the bridge/breakdown. That part alone put it on this list.

I'm Done - again, Korn is the best at bridges. Another one of my go-to songs when I've had a bad day. I love how JD goes from calm and collected to a huge release of pure hopelessness.

Good God - I simply never get tired of this song. Super crazy and a really fun chorus. The bass goes extremely hard with a subwoofer.

Honorable mention: Layla - if there was a remastered version of this song on Spotify, it would probably be on this list.
