Impossible mode question

Can i exit the game, or will i lose my progress? I still haven't used my save, but i gotta go somewhere in a few hours and i wanna know if i can exit the game, close it and turn off the PS5, or if i should leave it in rest mode until i use the save.

Did i screw up?

I just hunted the legendary moose but it's on the water and i can't skin it. I tried with the lasso and it didn't work, i tried pushing it with both Arthur and the horse, and it didn't work. Did i just lose my chance to skin the moose, or is there a way to do it?
