Is there a way to legally disown an adopted child?

For context, my mother adopted a child through simulated birth around four decades ago. Despite my parents’ efforts to raise him in a stable and loving environment, he grew up to become violent, irresponsible, and verbally abusive. He also has a gambling addiction and frequently creates conflict within the family. We no longer feel safe around him.

My mother wants to know if there is any legal way to disown him or legally sever the parent-child relationship. Since the adoption was done through simulated birth many years ago, we are unsure what legal remedies may still exist today.

Any legal insight would be appreciated.

Kittens Looking for Loving Homes (Free Adoption)

Hi everyone! I’m currently looking for kind and responsible people to adopt these sweet babies.

We took them in back in january, and since then they’ve been raised in a safe environment with care and attention. I already have 7 adult indoor cats, and unfortunately, due to unexpected changes in my situation, I’m no longer able to provide the long-term care these kittens deserve. Because of this, I’m hoping to find them stable and loving homes.

They are:

• 6 Domestic shorthair kittens, about 4 months old

• Litter-trained

• Healthy, active, sweet, and playful.

Each of them has their own unique personality—some are very cuddly and malambing and likes to get belly rubs, while others are a bit shy at first and need time to warm up to new people. They’re used to being around people (inside our house) and other cats.

Health note:

As for the gender the 2 tilapias and the black and white one with a black mark on their face are female (the one with pic posing for a belly rub). The black one, and the 2 other black and white kittens are male.

The kittens are active and doing well, but they have not yet received deworming or vaccinations. Future adopters should be prepared for routine vet care. The kittens have also been regularly bathed and groomed, and they’re currently flea free.

I’m hoping to find them loving homes where they’ll be cared for long-term. If you’ve had pets before or are ready for the responsibility, that’s a big plus.

Feel free to share this post to help these little ones find their forever homes.
