Just framed these old pictures my late grandad took on one of their coastal trips in the UK, most likely England. Any ideas where they are? Both are believed to be in the same location

How would you go about repairing this?
The lower ‘trim’ has rotted away it appears and has now fallen off. First photo was a few weeks ago, rest are today.
Would it just be a case of wood filler and repaint? As it’s such a large section thinking it might be too much for filler.
What’s fallen off is a mixture of a 50mm x 50mm timber batten and cement I believe.
If not a DIY job, assume a carpenter might be best?
