Incest books that aren't just smut but have an actual plot?

The majority of cesty books, I've noticed, are mostly just smut and a plot is nowhere to be found. There's also barely ever a moral dilemma over literally fucking/falling for a family member. I do enjoy erotica but I want the drama here. I mean c'mon!

I'm fine with all kinds of genres/tropes etc but I'd generally enjoy a darker book. The book should ideally be more than 250 pages.

I'm reading quite a lot of taboo but tbh, it's hard for me to even remember most of the books due to the lack of plot. I want something that I'll preferably still randomly think about weeks after I've read it.

Probably the most memorable book I've read cannot be named here (iykyk).

{End Scene by Nicky James} also comes to mind. I really, really enjoyed this actually. I know the author has other taboo books, I might need to read them. Maybe you can give me your opinion here!

Odessa Hywell is a great author for taboo as well and while I have read and enjoyed quite a lot of her books, I find it hard to really remember them afterwards. I mean, admittedly, there is some plot going on but not too much and also barely a lack of moral dilemma.

Looking forward to some recommendations!

Mafia books where both characters are 40+ years old?

I enjoy reading mafia books and I generally love an age gap BUT I've been heavily craving mafia books where both characters are a bit older, not just one of them. And by a bit older I don't mean 30 something but at least 40 years old please.

{Call the Coroner by Avril Ashton} is the only book I can really think of. I love it so much btw and would love something similar!

I'd also love two enemy mafia bosses but that doesn't necessarily have to be the case. Also a plus if it would be the Russian mafia.

Looking forward to some recs. Thanks!

How do you handle books you paused due to not being in the mood but plan to continue eventually?

I'm a mood reader, so it does occasionally happen that I'm starting a book only to not be in the mood for it after having read a certain amount of it. It's not a case for DNFing because I'm enjoying the book and plan to eventually continue reading it (whether I actually do that is a different story).

But I have no idea how to handle these books on Goodreads? Which shelf do you put them on? I created an extra shelf but since you have to choose from either one of the 4 main shelves, I've still put these books under currently reading.

It's making me crazy though to have several books there which I'm not actually currently reading but have paused. But to mark them as read or want to read wouldn't be right either.

I'd love some suggestions. Thank you!

MM TV shows with a happy ending AND characters that are at least in their mid 20s

I've been reading MM romance books for a while and just love the diversity we get there. I can't really find any series where the characters are a bit "older

" (not still in highschool and teens) and that also has a good ending, not a tragic one. The ending doesn't have to be all sugar coated, I just don't want it to be a bad one!

Before you suggest Heated Rivalry, of course I've watched it and am obsessed with it. Technically, I know, the characters are pretty young in the beginning as well but since the show spans so many years, I can accept that.

I'm fine with pretty much every genre, as long as there's a happy ending! Would love some crime/thriller themed shows. I always love books where two detectives are working together but idk if any series like that exists.

The two men should be the main characters please! I don't want them to be supporting characters but I want for the gay love story to play a big part of the series!

Thanks in advance!

I finished the {Riding Home series by Amy Bellows} yesterday and found the MCs dynamic SO interesting. I've never read something quite like it but I need more.

Basically there are 3 MCs who all know they are poly and have been having relationships with several people at the same time for years.

MC1 and MC2 are in a very committed relationship when they meet MC3 who eventually becomes part of that.

But then for example MC1 also has been having a separate relationship with another character who has nothing to do with the other two romantically. That character is also in yet another relationship with a man.

And MC3 is regularly fucking his best friend with whom he's not involved romantically though.

There's also the open relationship aspect. All MCs can have sex with whomever they want and there are many group scenes.

I'd love to find a book that is similar. So far I've read books that have either poly or open relationships but I don't think I've read anything that has pretty much both.

I want a book where the different layers of both physical and romantic relationships are depicted. It doesn't have to be 100% like Riding Home but I'd love for several aspects I named to come up.

I'm fine with pretty much everything and would love the book to be omegaverse as well but it's not a requirement!

Thanks in advance!
