[Orient Kamasu] Not black or blue

The first watch I bought that kicked off my current collection is a blue Orient Mako II. I still have that watch, and still wear it. But as the lineup of Orient dive watches grew and matured, I took note of the Kamasu line.

Particularly this green one. It splits the difference between sport and dress quite nicely I think, while adding a wonderful little pop of color and personality. The little improvements like a sapphire crystal and better knurling on the crown compared to my Mako are much appreciated as well.

Anyone else wearing green today? I'm told it's not very versatile... Good thing I don't care about any of that!

Cheers!

[Traska Commuter 36mm] I think I have a type

So I guess it was inevitable that I would eventually find myself with one of these on my wrist. I've always been a bit of a sucker for a simple design with a dial that pops in one way or another. It's what drew me to Henry Archer watches with the Nordso Iris. Many will say these are boring or uninspired, and I can see that take. How many times have we seen this design iterated on over the years? What's really new here?

I try not to get all wrapped up in those sorts of concerns. That said, I think this is a beautiful little watch. I have a wrist of about 6.75 inches and was torn between the 34mm and 36mm in Adriatic Blue. With the longer lugs I was concerned about a 38mm wearing too large. I think I honestly could have gone with either, thankfully.

I love the little circumference of polish on the brushed bezel, the polished bevels on the clasp, and that most of the "exposed" surfaces of the watch are brushed. The dial is absolutely my jam. It changes colors depending on lighting, looking almost black in a more dimly lit room, changing to dark blue-grey, to having hints of green in it as well. Just delightful! It's very comfortable, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the protective coating Traska touts will hold up to wear and tear.

Cheers!

[Alpina Alpiner Chrono] I love that Valjoux wobble

This was one of the first nice watches I ever bought myself. It was an impulse buy actually... my first panda. I absolutely loved it, so much that I was afraid of wearing it actually. I never wore it to work, was afraid to wear it out. Well those days are gone!

I love all of its little details and charm, that includes the Valjoux's rotor wobble. It makes me grin like a fool mid conversation!

What do you guys think of the red strap? I tend not to wear too much black so took it off of the original black strap. Finding straps for this can be a little challenging as the lugs are short. The original came with curved lugs and the width is 21mm.

[Omega Speedmaster Snoopy] Every day I wear this feels like a special day

We probably see these a little too often on Reddit... But this thing always makes my day so I'll contribute to the beating of this particular dead horse!

It's my first Speedy, first Omega actually... and I fear it will kick off a bit of a Speedmaster collection :D

The only letdown for me was the fabric strap, so I am wearing it on an Artem sailcloth with their deployment clasp. How many of you prefer it on the bracelet? If so, why bracelet? Also, if you're the kind of person who would get a second Speedmaster, which would you go for?

Cheers!
