Worried about my resident water dragon in this weather
Located gold coast,
I know this is silly 🤭 but it never hurts to ask.
is there anything i can do to keep our resident juvenile water dragon comfortable with the cold weather we've been having?
details:
- hes around a year old
- we are directly across from a wetlands nature reserve, 'big mama' as we call her lays her eggs in the front yard every year, they hatch and come to the backyard (aka lizard nursery)
- they mainly move on but we usually have one or two that stick around for a year or two
- the backyard is well setup for them with tons of plants, a safe patio to hide and a pool (with critter ramp) for swim practice
- theres even no birds because my dogs bark at them! (the lizards are behind a pool fence and my dogs are not smart or good hunters so no danger to them)
we dont feed them or anything, they have enough bugs and plant life to be good and chunky.
as ridiculous as it is i feel a bit sad seeing him cold and wet! should i be like,, making him a tiny insulated dog kennel or something? i just want him to be warm and cozy 🥲
