Practice shots for the dome; I can't wait to wear these. It has taken some work to get these to not look black in-camera without shooting RAW and tweaking. I think I'm almost there. I will probably want to take some outdoors in the sun too.

Got to try on my Allen's in Navy Elbamatt that I'm going to dome with this year. First time for me. I'm hoping this veg tan gets some nice depth and contrast over the next 6 months. Now to keep them boxed for the next two weeks...

A temple built to the future of the past

Y'all might be getting tired of me posting pics of this pair of boots, but I think they've become the pair I get the most compliments on in the wild.

Slow and steady forms the patina.

In month 4 of their life with me, and I try to wear them 3-4 times a week most weeks, this leather is very light in color still, part of their interest, but it also means they're very susceptible to looking different in different light and in different camera processing. The last photo where they look dark is the straight out of camera jpg from my phone with all the phones modern computational processing. The other 4 pics I shot in raw and edited so the color and lightness looks more true to life.

Shortly after I took this pic, grabbed dinner with my daughter at a fancy pizza place and got a compliment on my shoes from the waiter.

We're moving, so please forgive the junky environment, but super excited to have picked up a pair of wide widths before they go the way of the dodo. This suede marks up quickly as expected. I thought it was similar in color to my copper rough & tough, but its a little more mustardy where it scuffs and where the jeans rub. Super cool. More progress photos to come.

Parkhurst Allen Natural

I’m finishing up my third week in these boots. I went for a sunny walk today and grabbed a few quick snapshots to document the break-in progress.

The break-in has been tougher than I remember with my other boots, but my feet are finally starting to feel at home in them.

Despite wearing them almost daily, I haven’t really put them through much yet. I’m sure I’ll get caught in a rainstorm eventually, but for now the worst the uppers have seen is a little dog drool and minor scuffing from the heel of the opposite boot when I cross my legs (or do something equally dumb).
