For those with a Steam controller (2026) and a Steam Deck, can you still use the steam controller for retro games in desktop mode?

And if you (have to) play through Game mode, are you able to use the full capabilities of the controller? Such as Gyro for Wii/Wii U/3DS games and/or back buttons for all games on emulators?

Asking mostly because I'm curious how this will work in the long run on Steam Machine. Thank you all in advance.
