Replacing Bupropion

I've been on a GLP-1 for a while, and it's helped me lose a ton of weight. I do want to be on it long term. But the anhedonia has been crushing.

A few months back I visited a doc. But because of the checkbox approach to mental health here in the UK, he said he couldn't put me on bupropion until I'd tried at least two SSRIs.

So I decided to wing it, and bought some generic bupropion from India. First few months have been incredible, like a weight has lifted off my mind. I have more motivation to do hobbies.

But there have been cognitive side effects. I feel like executive function has declined, as well as verbal fluency. This led me into looking at noots, specifically to counter the effect of the medication, which supposedly relates to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. The bupropion sub is fully of people reporting the same - short term memory lapses, brain fog etc.

I was taking piracetam and citicoline. Then aniracetam. I took ALCAR for a while and it helped, until I read into the effect on tmao levels. But I've had limited success.

I'm thinking of coming off bupropion because of this. I ordered some bromantane, which supposedly works on dopamine, as a possible fix for the anhedonic sides of GLP-1s. But I would be keen to hear from those with a bit more experience in noots on what else might work.
