All, I have been an passive member of this community for some time. My husband (31) and I (30) are at a crossroads.

We are blessed to have a 3 year old daughter. During the course of my pregnancy with her I was told I have a bicornate uterus. Other than causing her to be breech, we didn't have any complications. Fast forward and we have been trying to conceive baby #2 and have experienced the exact opposite.

I experienced a miscarriage at 6 weeks in November 2025 and then another in March of 2026 at 8 weeks. Since these loses we have moved to a fertility specialist. We started with the normal blood/hormonal/sperm/genetic panels which have come back as normal. Both miscarriages were caused by non genetic issues.

My Dr. recommended that I undergo an MRI in which I found out that my bicornuate uterus is really a septate uterus (2 cm totally muscular). My Dr. suggested undergoing a hysteroscopic resection.

We have been incredibly lucky to conceive quickly. With another cycle around the corner, we are debating holding off on trying until the hysteroscopic resection is complete.

We have mixed emotions when it comes to waiting. It is hard to sit a cycle out when we have had success with a septate. However, undergoing another miscarriage is quite frankly...daunting.

For those who have been in a similar situation I would love to know if:

  1. For those who have chosen to not undergo the procedure, how have things turned out?
  2. For those who have undergone the procedure, how have things turned out?

I would really appreciate any and all insight - this is my message to the universe for guidance, and I can think of no better place than this community.
