Looking for a daycare/ child care center for my 2.5 year old son. He will be 3 in December.
We had a bad experience with an in home daycare so we are looking to try again somewhere new.
If anyone has any real recent experience, please provide!! TIA
My 2.5 yr old son was attending a daycare 2 times a week recently. We started 4 months ago and up until that time, I was home with him 100%. Well when we started daycare, he had a really hard time adjusting.
My daycare provider (Ms. H) had a great facility. She had all the degrees, accreditations and awards. Her facility was a perfect set up. We were excited to try something new.
Over the months, there has been some concerns. Here’s a couple:
Ms. H had expressed her concerns saying my son may be developmentally delayed. She made this comment about 4 times until we acted on it. (My husband and I had no concerns about him). When we went through our county program, he tested higher than his current age. Well Ms. H told us to get a second opinion. So we get an occupational therapist and she also shows no concerns. Ms. H once again asks to get another opinion.
My son constantly would be in so much distress when we even said the word “school”.
Recently Ms. H texted me and told me my son threw up. She actually sent me a picture with throw up on the table, throw up down my sons mouth, and my son crying. This was the ultimate cherry on top. When I picked him up, he started telling me “I freak out, Ms. H mad”. I then had to question my son if anything further has happened there.
Is this out of the ordinary? This is our first daycare experience and this left me extremely uncomfortable to the point that we withdrew him.
I just can’t fathom how she pulled her phone out in a distressing time for my son in front of all the other kids. Seems shameful.

Today, I am brushing my depression to the side and using all that energy to focus on how we all come together to fight for what we deserve! Can’t wait to see you all out there today!
