TLDR; temporary gastric stimulators are an option in some places!!

Hi everyone! It bas been about 1 year since my temporary gastric stimulator was placed, which means august will be one year with the permanent stimulator!!! I would absolutely get the procedure again. The reason I am posting this is because I want to make people aware that some motility clinics allow temporary gastric stimulator placements to see if the permanent one would be helpful. I haven't seen many people talk about that specific portion of gastric stimulators. The temp stimulator is placed via endoscopy and then the wires come up your throat and out of your nose. It is slightly uncomfortable but nothing insane. The battery is carried in a pouch around your neck for 5ish days while you see how you feel with the battery. If it is successful they will place the permanent one!
