Crumb went to Burning Man! (Marked NSFW for the more PG-13 pics lol)
I was really nervous about bringing Crumb along because I didn't want him to get damaged, but I had brought him to our Burning Man regional event a few months ago and it was a blast! So I bit the bullet and decided to bring him anyway and I am so glad I did! I took him EVERYWHERE - even to the portos a few times lol. The best part was seeing how other people interacted with him. The greeters at the gate gave him hugs, asked his name, and took him through the first-timer traditions of ringing the bell and making "playa angels" in the dust. People would ask about him while I was working our camp's bar and we even had someone come back to our camp later in the week asking for "Crumb's Mom". They gave him little gifts and trinkets - which is how he got the fuzzy vest thing you see him wearing mid-way through. I stopped at a camp to get "branded" on my arm and they gave him a brand stamp on the butt of his overalls too! And not just as a quick add-on, they did the full branding "ceremony" for him as well. My campmates kept trying to be a bad influence on him by giving him drinks and cigarettes when I wasn't looking lol. This was my 7th burn and he made the whole experience 100x better! Do things with your BaBs and make memories!
Flea Comb Experiment
I've been using a boar bristle brush and metal bristle slicking brush on my goblin son ever since I got him and although they have helped, his fur has never gotten back to it's "brand new" state and since I snuggle him constantly, his fur starts to show signs of matting quickly. Well I went to the pet store the other day to get him his own slicking brush (so as not to share with my cat anymore lol) and noticed the flea combs. I had used a very thick/blunt tapestry needle to pick out his seams recently and thought the flea comb was basically the same thing but with even more points, so I figured I'd buy it and give it a try and OMG YA'LL!!! He is SO soft and fluffy after a flea combing and it is so much easier to get into the little nooks and crannies than with the slicking brush. Picture shows the difference between his legs after a boar bristle brushing (on the left) and after a flea combing (on the right). I'm not sure how well it would work on the other BaB fur types, but I thought I'd let you guys know of my discovery.
