Help me pick my second IEMs

Currently using the 7Hz Salnotes Zero type C and honestly I have mixed feelings about them.

I don’t hate them. I actually like them to an extent, especially the clarity and detail for the price. But sometimes they sound a bit too sharp/piercing for me, especially with certain songs and longer listening sessions. Hip-hop tracks and aggressive mixes can get fatiguing.

My music taste is honestly all over the place and depends completely on my mood.

Some days I listen to:

- KK

- Arijit Singh

- Atif Aslam

- Bollywood songs in general

Other times I listen to:

- Hip-hop

- Trap

- Bass-heavy songs

- Phonk

- EDM type stuff

So I’m basically looking for an all-rounder IEM that can handle multiple genres well without becoming too harsh or fatiguing.

Budget is around ₹4K INCLUDING a decent DAC (thinking something like the Audiocular D07).

I know this is not a huge budget for an entire setup, but if the improvement is genuinely worth it, I can maybe stretch to around ₹5K max.

Main priorities:

- Non-fatiguing sound

- Good bass quality (not muddy)

- Still decent clarity/detail

- Works across multiple genres

- Comfortable for longer listening sessions

Not looking for fake “ultra analytical” treble monster tuning. I’d rather enjoy music than get my ears stabbed by hi-hats 😭

Would appreciate genuine suggestions from people who have actually used these sets long term.

Liked my salnotes zero at first but now it sounds kinda suppressed.

Been using my 7Hz Salnotes Zero for around 15 days now. Initially I had to EQ them(as the stock tuning was wayy to flat and harsh) to a KZ Duonic/Zero 2 style target using Squiglink and absolutely loved the sound. Music felt open, exciting, detailed and fun.

But now after using them daily, the sound suddenly feels kinda suppressed, less open and less engaging. The weird thing is nothing seems physically wrong. No channel imbalance, no crackling, no distortion, etc.

I’m wondering if this is:

- ear/brain adaptation to the EQ

- listening fatigue

- over-EQing

- tip/seal issue

- or maybe something wrong with the cable/IEM itself

I also noticed that when using target EQs, loudness drops because of negative preamp, and I’m not sure if increasing preamp in Poweramp is the right move.

Would appreciate some advice from experienced users.

Edit: Can I get a refund or store credits as I have got them from Concept Kart🥀😭

Which upgrade cable should I get for my 7hz salnotes zero

Which Type-C upgrade cable should I get for my 7Hz Salnotes Zero? I’m on a tight budget, so I can’t get both a 3.5 mm cable and a DAC. My top priority is the best sound quality with PEQ support, and mic quality comes second. If there are any other good options besides the ones in the photos I attached, please let me know.

Thanks in advance y'all 🍬

How to properly store IEMs?

I use my IEMs for 2-3 hours daily otherwise they are kept in the case as shown in the picture. My questions are:

  1. Is the IEM placed correctly in the case?

  2. Are there any stress in the wires that could destroy the cables overtime?

Overtime there are memory curves in the wire. Will it cause any issues?

Any help will be highly appreciated:D

Need suggestion to EQ IEMs

Hey guys, I recently got the 7Hz Salnotes Zero Type-C version and overall I’m really liking the sound and detail. But sometimes the treble/upper mids feel a bit harsh or fatiguing on some songs, especially phonk and brighter tracks.

I’m using a OnePlus Nord 4.

Can someone share a good EQ for the Zeros that smooths out the harshness a little without completely killing the detail? Also which app should I use for EQ on Android? I’ve heard about Wavelet and Poweramp EQ but not sure which one works better.

Any tips for ear tips/settings are welcome too.

After days of researching and overthinking, I finally got the 7Hz Salnotes Zero Mecha Edition Type-C as my first ever IEM.

Previously I used:

- OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro

- Goboult Soniq headphones

I also tested them using Apple Music Lossless along with YouTube Music on Very High quality.

And honestly? The experience was not the “I heard my songs for the first time” type of magical upgrade that Reddit and YouTube sometimes exaggerate 😭

The difference IS real though.

The biggest thing I noticed was cleaner instrument separation and less muddy sound. While listening to Kun Faya Kun, the tabla placement genuinely felt more spacious and natural compared to my previous devices. Vocals also feel cleaner and more separated from the instruments.

But at the same time, after cross-testing with my Goboult Soniq, I realized those headphones could reproduce some of the same details too, just not as cleanly or naturally as the Zero.

I also honestly couldn’t notice a difference between Apple Music Lossless and YouTube Music Very High quality on this setup.

Can someone please tell me what I am missing here?

I got them today and the audiocular AC31 case feels too small. It is hella painful and frustrating to keep the IEM in the case sometimes it adjusts easily and sometimes my brain hurts . Can any one tell me how to do it? Have I connected the pins correctly?

Thanks in advance

This is my first IEM. I'm so excited. I know I shouldn't have ordered from Concept Kart. But they were the only ones where the mecha edition was in stock.
