Feel silly asking this…

3y/o F standard poodle doesn’t bark. At all.

In fact, the only time she ever barks is in the context of playing (she does it when the person/animal she’s playing with is stationary and she is jumping around to incite them to play chase). Each time, her first bark visibly startles her — almost like she’s wondering where the sound is coming from.

Anyway, I love that my dog doesn’t bark but I also want to know how to teach her to “speak.” Because she only barks in one very specific context, it has been difficult for me to train her to bark on command.

Has anyone figured out how to teach dogs to bark when they are silent 99+% of the time?

Thank you.

Help needed for good dog tag holder

G is a 3y/o Standard poodle (red) and she is the best dog anyone could ask for.

The issue we have is we cannot get her dog tag to stay on for longer than 1 month. She is a very active dog and usually after a long day of playing, the tag is gone. We’ve lost 5 tags in the last 6 months.

We want to make sure that we find a durable solution to make identification easier if we get separated (she is microchipped).

Please give us suggestions for what has worked best for you.

Thank you!
