Same dog, different universe 🐩

I swear I bring in a tiny curly gremlin and pick up a completely different dog every time. He's no stranger to grooming but I still feel like I'm meeting a new dog after every appointment. Grooming magic!

Am I a fool for trying to grow his hair out during the summer?

Hi! first time poodle owner! I got Choco last month and I have plans on growing his hair out, but should I be worried that I'm gonna cause him to overheat during our outdoor play times? I know people tend to cut their poodles short during the summer.
For reference I live in South Korea and average temps during our afternoon walks is around 80F with 80% humidity

Starter kit recommendations for a new poodle puppy?

Hi! My wife and I will be bringing home our new standard poodle puppy at the end of this month and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for items we should purchase as well as a high quality food brand for this breed. I’ve mostly raised Great Danes so this will be a new experience for me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! We are so excited 😊

Recharging Poodles

Our Tina girl likes to sunbathe for a few hours every day. If we can’t find her, she’s almost always here or in another spot. She has a bed out here but this is her fave spot. Show me your sunny poos!

Kiki’s first time in a lake. She was a little nervous, but she figured it out. Proud of my girl. 🐩💙

Henlo, beautiful hoomans! 🐾 It’s Callie again! Did you all have a pawsome weekend? Mine had lots of sniffies, zoomies, and quality nap time. I hope yours was just as fun! Wishing everypaw a tail-wagging good week ahead!

I hardly ever get to interact with poodles

We get tons of doodles and very, VERY few poodles at the boarding/daycare place I work at. So every one I do get to see makes me ECSTATIC

Obligatory not my fella. I'll have one of my own someday...

Does anyone's poodle scratch their face and roll on the ground every morning?

I'm not sure if my mini poodle might have allergies? He always is scratching at his face in the morning, rubbing his face against different furniture, and then rolling on his back.

Feet shaving advice/rant

I need a little solidarity from those of you with poodles high on anxiety 😅 my 5yo standard has been an anxious dog straight from the womb (literally what our animal behaviorist vet told us 🤦🏻‍♀️). We have done allll the things to help her and she’s been on Prozac for years now.

Three years ago, we (myself and partner, because it fully takes two people) decided to groom her ourselves because she would get so so anxious at the groomer. I actually enjoy the grooming process and she has calmed a lot around it since we started back then. But the FRONT PAWS! 😓We have tried loads of desensitization, but NOTHING helps with the front paws. NOTHING! 😭😭😭😭

She had gotten a fair bit better over the past few years…but in the last 6 months she has regressed SO much and I’m at my wit’s end. We just fully shave her on a 10 because we live in the southern US and we don’t even care what the cut looks like anymore, it’s all about utility.

Any advice for shaving the front paws of an extremely uncooperative dog?

Also, please be kind - I’m not looking for general training advice or chastisement. You will never truly understand what having a biologically anxious dog is like unless you personally have one.
