UK Metrology Career Growth

Hi all, just stumbled on this sub and hoping someone could offer some advice or point me in the right direction.

I've been a CMM programmer for just over 2 years. I got this role as a sideways move from being a toolmaker, with zero prior experience.

I really enjoy the role and the sort of work we do, but I want to learn more and gain more experience but I don't know how. I programme on Metrolog X4 and have seen PC-DMIS through the Metrolog software but never programmed it myself.

Are there any courses or anything you can do as an individual in the UK related to metrology and inspection? My company will not pay for training. We've only recently started looking at GD&T so my understanding of this is really limited but I think it's an important skill I should learn.

Any advice for ways I can gain new skills or experience? Happy to self fund. I would just like to open myself up for more opportunities at other companies.

Thanks!

Should I take my husband?

My appointment with an NHS gynaecologist is on Monday. I'm trying to decide, do I take my husband into the appointment with me or not?

I'm terrified of the doctors and it's something I've always struggled with. I really want to be a strong independent woman that can advocate for herself and get the surgery.

BUT... Do you think having my husband in the room would increase my chances of getting a yes? Would love to hear people's experiences. Thanks! :)

Just coming to the end of my night shift and always wanted to join in on this... Happy Flat Fuck Friday!

Should be having some silverback and cappuccino flat fucks delivered soon once the weather cools down here in the UK!

(Also I think we need a FFF flair)

How do you know when it's time for your bunnies to live together full time?

I posted about 5 months ago after my two boys, Merry and Pippin, got neutered.

I have been taking the bonding very slowly as I did not want to mess it up. I don't know if I'm being too paranoid about letting them be together full time but I just don't know how to tell when they're ready.

They have always lived in pens side by side, and usually sleep next to eachother pressed up against the bars. Pippin has groomed Merry through the bars on many occasions.

After lots of pen swapping and bonding in neutral territory I now open up both their pens into a larger section of the room. They both have access to both pens and this larger area. They freely go in and out of eachother's pens, separately and together. They use both litter trays and water bottles, and eat hay together in both areas. The flop together on eachother's beds.

They have both tried to mount eachother, usually the bottom bunny will run a short distance away. The other may try again a couple of times but it has never escalated and the top bunny usually stops after a couple of attempts.

I haven't noticed any nipping or thumping. There has been some chasing but it never lasts more than about 10 seconds and I've never felt the need to intervene. Pippin has groomed Merry maybe 3 or 4 times in total. Merry has groomed Pippin a couple of times through the bars, but never when they are out together. There have been some zoomies and binkies.

Everything seems to be going well but as they are my first bunnies I just want to be sure and not undo all the work that has gone into this. They can spend up to 8 hours or more out together in the day, but I haven't been brave enough to test them out overnight yet.

Any thoughts appreciated, this community has been so helpful up to now. Thank you!
