Boombox Barry spills all on cycle hire in Manchester

The last video in our series on cycle and scooter hire in Manchester gives insight into what people actually think should be available in the city.

Many people want to see different operators come to Manchester, ones that have proven themselves in London, Birmingham, and beyond. The frustration is straightforward: the schemes people want exist elsewhere, and Manchester doesn't have them.

When it comes to cycle hire policy, it's easy for decision makers to lose sight of what people actually want. So we went and asked them. The answer was pretty consistent: people want something different to what's currently on offer, and they know exactly what that looks like.

- An easy to use and familiar app
- A simple locking system that is reliable
- Bikes available across the city, close to where they are.
- A comfortable and accessible ride.

No spin this time. Andy Burnham may not be personally responsible for these bikes, but someone at TfGM is. How can we fix them?

We asked people in Manchester what they thought about the Beryl Bikes. What do they think about the locking system? Were there any issues that came from broken locks or unavailable bikes that effected their usage? I'm sure you can all relate!
