Upgrade from Bambino

I have a Bambino for the past 4 years or so along with a DF54.

I've been struggling with the Bambino for the last while as the steam wand is a constant battle for consistency.

I have been weighing the options, Silvia, Gaggia, Lelit or a Profitec.

I'm not sure if I should blow the bank and get a Profitec 600 as my end game?

Tax credits with wife

My wife is currently on Jobseekers Pay Related Benefit, which is due to end next week.

I work full time earning 50k per year.

It's looking doubtful that she will be entitled to Jobseekers Allowance but should she transfer all her tax credits to me or what's the best thing to do in this situation?

Goal exhaustion?

I got the keys to my first (and only) house this date last year. I saved for years and got the house without a broker etc..

My partner wasn't in a financial position to save so I put 20% down myself so to borrow less as we are both in our 40s.

I was made redundant in the new year as this was the main motivation to buy a house as I suspected it coming (I since got a new job for more pay)

Long story short, since buying the house, I've simply no motivation as I just want to tip around the house and do odd jobs. i feel like I'm on autopilot in the new job, but I want to feel motivated given that it allows me to comfortably pay the bills and more importantly, save.

Has anyone here had the same feeling that they would happily retire after buying their first or forever home?

Weddings

I feel like I'm the only one who hates going them.

I would rather put in a full day at work than attend a wedding. I just got invited to a wedding in September and honestly, it's ruined my whole feckin Summer.

Edit: I know I can RSVP back with a no, but it's also the point of not upsetting anyone and the general feeling of obligation of it all.

Doorway cover

I recently bought a house and wanted to paint this wall. What's the best/easiest way to make this look a bit more finished?

That one family member?

Do we all have that family member/in-law who is anti appliance like microwave, air fryer, dishwasher etc... even though they never used one to know the benefits to your daily life.

I always find it funny that they stubbornly refuse to use what are standard appliances on the level of a washing machine, even though their better half is stuck with the dishwashing and cooking.

I've noticed these types in different families, usually they are posting "truths" on Facebook with the unique skillset of looking up videos on YouTube.

Where is your comfort zone when it comes to takeaway leftovers, specifically Chinese?

I have a mixture of dry (rice, chips and chicken balls) along with liquid based dishes (chop suey) in the fridge since Monday and wasn't in the form for them yesterday.

Normally, I would only stretch the leftovers to the next day, but it would be a shame to bin them all the same.
