So Bored of IPhone Air Complaints.

I honestly think the iPhone Air is the best iPhone I’ve ever used. What surprises me is how many complaints completely miss the point….

Everything is a set of choices and trade-offs. That’s true for laptops, cars, cameras — and phones. If someone wants maximum battery life, multiple cameras, bigger speakers, and every possible feature, Apple already makes those phones. They’re called the Pro models, and the trade-off is they’re heavier, thicker, and less comfortable to carry.

The whole appeal of the Air is that it prioritises lightness, thinness, and feel in the hand. That is qthe feature. For some people, that matters more than having another camera lens or a few extra hours of battery life.

What frustrates me about a lot of the YouTube tech scene is that many reviewers judge every phone against the exact same checklist: more battery, more cameras, more speakers, more everything. Eventually every phone becomes the same oversized brick. I’d rather have real variety and different design philosophies than five versions of the same phone.

Honestly, for the Air 2 I don’t want Apple to add another camera at all. I want them to improve the single camera instead. I want the camera plateau even thinner so a slim bumper case can properly cover it. And probably my most unpopular opinion: get rid of the USB-C port entirely. I basically never use it. That space could instead go to more battery, another speaker, or help make the phone thinner again.

The only criticism I really have time for is battery technology. Not because the current battery is bad — it isn’t. I still end most days with around 50% left on the air. But if silicon-carbon batteries help make future Air models even thinner without sacrificing battery life, then absolutely go in that direction.

I just hope Apple ignores the constant boring complaints demanding every iPhone become the same feature-maxed slab.

Loving life - Kwirk via CrankBoy.

Playdate never ceases to amaze! CrankBoy plays Kwirk like a dream. Better than when I played this early 90s.

Really enjoyed the first 100 levels of The Last Ball. It’s a great little game, although I’d love to see the difficulty ramp up a bit more — it feels a little too easy at the moment.
