My therapist cancelled tomorrows session, and since I have already done the mental preparations, I’m gonna go ahead and do emdr by myself. I’m planning to try either an app or bilateral music.

Do you have any advice?

Almost a year ago, I made a post describing how my partner kept lashing out to me in couples therapy. The therapist allowed it, which made me think I was over reacting. Luckily, your responses kept me sane(ish) and I decided to quit therapy.

We have started seeing a new therapist. After just 3 sessions, he told my partner that the way he talks to me is destructive and damaging, and that he will not allow it in his office. It feels good to have my experience validated and at the same time I am really angry at our previous therapist.
