r/buildapc has 7 million members and the simple questions thread never stops. why do people keep coming here instead of just googling?

Not a complaint — I did the same thing. But it got me thinking.

Google gives you articles written 2 years ago recommending parts that are either overpriced or discontinued. YouTube gives you builds that don't match your budget or where you live. Reddit gives you a real person who built something similar last month.

I don't think people come here because the info doesn't exist elsewhere. They come because they don't trust it without a human sanity check.

Building a PC is an $800–2000 decision. Of course you want a second opinion from someone who actually did it recently.

What made you come here for the first time?
