is there any reason i should choose iiser mohali over iiser tvm?

with a rank of 45XX in gen category, i think ill get both iiser tvm & mohali if i wait until last rounds of counselling

tvm is 3rd on my pref list and mohali 2nd, but my target is iiser TVM bc its closer to home and i like the courses it has to offer, plus the campus being in the middle of the forest, far away from the city. plus i love kerala. but should i also consider iiser mohali? any reasons for it? i dont really want to live in the north being from south india, especially so far away.

seniors, thoughts?

Questions about campus life!

Hi current SNUC students, i have a few queries about the campus life and general experiences living in the hostels. this is in reference to BTECH course.

  1. How chill is the college? (Free time between classes, dress code, interactions with teachers etc)

  2. How often can first years leave the campus, like on weekends to go for outings or to explore the city? it is super hard to get permission?

  3. Do we have to go to classes every single day or can we pick our own schedules and choose our own class timings? And can we go to the library to study or work any time we wish?

  4. How easy is it to make friends? i mean, what’s the nature of the peer group? i’m sorry if this makes no sense, i know this is highly subjective. i’m a bit of an introvert but i can be social and i’m getting better at talking to people.

  5. how is the NON academic life for btech students? parties, fests, sports, clubs..

  6. can you visit other people‘s hostels rooms, and can you have friends over to your rooms, or is there too many restrictions on that?

would really appreciate your insight!!
