I am moving out my first apartment and I have already had a few arguments with the landlord about stuff prior to this incident. I have a cat, paid a pet deposit and apartment deposit. The cat did damage the walls by scratching it up pretty bad. The landlord is claiming the walls need to be redone completely and the scratches are down to the studs. I did anticipate having to pay for the damages but I don't think they're as bad as the look, considering that everything had very fresh paint when I moved in. I am looking for honest opinions on whether this is truly a $3,000 repair.
