Making my first game

A fun zombie survival game. As time goes, the zombies get more powerful and mutate.

You can play solo, Co-Op, or competitive races (and eventually PvP).

It's in Early Access now on Steam, or wishlist!

Do you guys make a website for games, how else other than Steam do you try to get exposure?

I made a script to strip out info from the game build and make a similar looking website to tease the game a bit. But not sure if anyone will ever see it as it's only linked to on the Steam page, and the game website simply just links back to Steam (lol).

If you have a website, should you try to direct views to that, or straight to the Steam store directly?

After no longer having a house, a marriage, or a job, I decided to just do coding projects with my time to keep moving forward. The current one being developing a game. It just released last weekend on Early Access and I already got my first couple of sales. I guess I can say I'm officially an indie solo game developer now!

I have 20 years experience in software development, but this is first attempt at a game. I have learned a lot quickly, as developing a game has some differences than traditional software. It's been a neat experience on seeing how various systems interact, scene layers and HUD overlays, game play balance, joystick targeting, large screen vs small screen for like for the Steam Deck, multiplayer complexities (async races, co-op, maybe even co-op or PvP later), and making bots for a dynamic world. This experience has been such different than standard back end systems and API integration or React apps I'm use to, but it's been a great experience.

It's still a work in progress, but feel free to give feedback, any would be much appreciated!
