Tell me what you’re doing with your childfree holiday weekend

I’ll (32F) go first! Woke up mad early yesterday (Friday) to do a long hard hike with some other childfree friends and the bf (34M). Got home around noon, took a 3 hour nap with the fur babies, hit the apartment pool, watched a scary movie while eating dinner.

Today (Saturday) slept in until 11, cooked lunch, hit the liquor store, then had a drink by our apartment pool while a bunch of moms chased around their screaming toddlers. Annoying? A little bit. But we left when we wanted to go back to our peaceful quiet apartment. Now we’re cooking dinner and binging It’s Always Sunny. Having friends over later tonight.

Tomorrow (Sunday)? No plans but being hungover and ordering Chinese food.

Just so grateful we didn’t have to spend the long weekend catering to kids begging to see fireworks, or arguing about what to eat, going to a kids birthday party or graduation, fighting with a teenager to wake up early to hike, deal with complaining toddlers at the pool, etc.

All we have to worry about is our cat screaming at us for a 6am breakfast. Life is good.

Moving to New England - so many options!

Hi all! My (32f) and bf (33m) are from South Jersey, and have been living in SLC Utah for the past few years. We absolutely love Utah but miss being close to family, so we’re looking to move back east.

I grew up exploring the New England area frequently so I’m familiar with a lot of areas, but never looked at moving there until now. We’ve lived everywhere from major cities (Philly, Denver, SLC) and also small boring towns. So we’d like something in between.

What we’re looking for / what we’re into:

- big into snowboarding (would love to be close to a local mountain or hill), hiking, climbing, camping, lake & river stuff

- would love a small city vibe surrounded by nature (we head into the mountains more often than downtown SLC, but still love restaurants, bars, art shops, music venues)

- into fitness (we enjoy walking & biking places, gym, yoga, pilates)

- we work remote

- vegan food scene would be a bonus

- renting a 2br apartment (not looking to buy)

Some places that jumped out to me / we enjoyed visiting in the past are:

- Burlington VT

- Ithaca NY

- Providence RI

Anyone with thoughts on these places, or anywhere else we should consider? Anywhere in CT/MA?
