Insight from an expert on a sumo/dirt set up?

I am looking at a 450 sf-x, only 150 hours, well maintained, forks are set up for dirt but has sumo wheels that would come with it,

I had a 690 and enjoyed it, but honestly am tired of only street riding. The goal is to get something smaller that can go in the back of my midsize truck, I can take the truck off-roading, set up camp and hit trails with the dirt set up. And if I was feeling it, maybe set it up for street for a day on the town now and then.

I know the sf-x is a race series, I have no experience with rebuilds so I guess I would take it somewhere to have the work done.

Is this too much work? I could spring for an 500 exc but we’re talking 4k ish usd for the sf-x and 7k for the exc

I sold my M6 TTL for about $1200 in 2018… devastated is an understatement. I probably took the biggest loss on some of the summicron lenses I sold with it.

I shot my best photos on my M6, and I don’t know how to stomach buying another for double to triple the price, plus at least another 35mm lens. Agh.

Edit: am I crazy for buying another at this point?

So yeah, as the title mentioned, I got through meps and was DQ’d for an adult asthma diagnosis after 6 months of the recruiting process. It had always been my dream to join SW and I’m feeling super lost. Having literal dreams about making it to selection. I worked really hard to get myself to a point of strong physical fitness levels, which I am happy about. But man, what the hell am I meant to do now? I’m too old to wait out the DQ and join later at this point (29) I need to get on with my life and find a wife, buy a house, I guess.

Bummed as hell.

Thank you to all who have made it through the rigorous process.
