My cat is terrified of nail clippers this is what finally worked for us 🐱
If your cat turns into a gremlin the second nail clippers come out, you're not alone.
My cat was the same totally fine with paw touching, but the moment clippers appeared, all bets were off.
What changed everything for us was using a tactical vest harness during nail trims. Not to restrain her, but to give her a sense of security and give ME a control handle for those "nope, I'm out" moments.
A few things that helped:
• Let her wear the harness indoors first with zero grooming just treats and cuddles
• Introduced the clippers separately, just letting her sniff them
• First session = one nail only, then done. Big treat reward.
• Built up slowly over 2 weeks
Now nail trims take under 5 minutes with zero drama 🙌
