So many borrowed influences/lyrics

I was listening to Ride Nati Dread from Bob Marley today for the first time and I was so surprised that I heard the lyrics to DJs on there. The part “Dreddy got a job to do, and we might fulfill his mission To see his pain would be his greatest ambition But, ah, we will survive in this world of competition.” He changed a couple words but it’s basically the same. I also found he did this with Jailhouse which is originally a song by Bunny Wailer called Rule this Land. Then there’s Pawn Shop and Lovin is What I Got also lyrics/melodies from other artists.

I love the style Sublime infused into the songs just surprised by how many of these there are. I didn’t list all. Just interesting observation is all. Not aware of other bands who’ve done that with so many songs.

Why is it so easy to relapse?

Last year I quit coffee and switched to drinking Zevia Green Tea. I was doing great, although I wasn’t caffeine free, it was a much lower dose than cold brew.

Fast forward to this year and Whole Foods stopped carrying it. I haven’t found any other place that carries it. I tried other brands but I haven’t found one I like.

I slowly started drinking cold brew again. First it was just here and there, maybe a few times a month. I would tell myself it’s just a treat. Then I bumped it up to a few times a week and now it’s almost daily. It’s to the point all the employees at the coffee shop I frequent, greet me by name when I pick up my to-go order.

I want to quit coffee entirely because I don’t like the jittery feeling it gives me. First I feel euphoria and that “I can conquer the world energy” but then slowly I start feeling the bad effects including the crash and tiredness after. Other forms of caffeine don’t affect me as bad but I still want to quit entirely.

What has worked for people in trying to kick the habit completely?

Is this a decent area of town to live in?

Would be moving from out of state for a temporary job for a few months and have never been to the city. No kids. Is this area safe to walk around? It looks pretty nice on Google maps.
