My best year yet
Hey all. Modest win post here, and maybe some strategy help for you.

Unlike many of the posts here, I don't have a single home-run. I have a portfolio of several mini websites. The break down is probably like this.
Site 1. 30% (one time purchases). A color analysis tool. Started in 2024. Exactly how it sounds. Upload photo -> AI analyzes you -> Get a tease result -> Pay to see the full result.
Site 2. 30% (but consistent MRR). A touchless web analytics tool. Solved my own problem. I experiment fast, and build new websites often. Existing analytics tools require me to do tons of UI clicking etc to get set up. I built one that is AI friendly, and I can just say "Claude, add analytics to [x]" and the site automatically gets provisioned to a dashboard where I can view all traffic.
Site 3 - 20% (Mix MRR / OTP). An online scorekeeping tool for streamers so that they can overlay simple scorebugs on their stream. Existing tools are very difficult to set up and require payment. Mine is free, with simple freemium upgrades. I allow for an "event pass", OTP - and an ongoing subscription.
Site 4 - 10% (OTP). An online quiz. Take a quiz, get a teaser result, pay to unlock the full result.
Site 5 - 5% (OTP). Another online quiz, same as site 4.
Site 6 - 5% (OTP). Solves a very niche problem for a very niche enterprise software. I built it last month, and I have 6 customers so far. It's very promising, but early.
Sites 7-40 I won't even mention, because none of them make any income yet.
I do also participate in rank & rent, but I've excluded those sites from this dashboard because mentally I like to separate the two.
Site 1, 4, and 5 are all things that ChatGPT is completely capable of replacing entirely. I've noticed on forums that I monitor, that it already kind of has. Rather than recommending an online color analysis tool, I see a lot of people recommending to just use ChatGPT. Same thing with the quizzes - chat LLMs are completely capable of asking you enough questions to give you a pretty good result.
