Our sixth new resort announcement mixes convenient options just outside of New York City and Philadelphia with a dreamy Euro-vacation destination boasting 26 lifts.

Please welcome: Orcières Merlette 1850, France; Spring Mountain, PA; Winter4Kids, NJ; Nutt Hill, WI; and Veterans Memorial Recreation Area, NH.

Spring Mountain’s chairlifts are less than 30 miles from downtown Philly. Deal in our friends at nearby Shawnee and Bear Creek and you have yourself a helluva weekend that only requires a tank or so of gas from the city.

Winter4Kids is a national treasure in its own right, a nonprofit fiercely dedicated to providing quality ski/ride access for kids and located just outside NYC. Both Nutt Hill and “The Vets” perfectly represent the notion of a community-focused and built ski area, full stop. These places are the lifeblood of skiing.

The first resort announcement of the week crosses 3 continents and 2 oceans, connecting the northernmost chairlift in North America to the Land of the Rising Sun and community-focused ski hills in New York and North Dakota.

More access means more decisions, and we hope you’ll think intentionally about how you build your winter while putting independent ski areas at the heart of it all.

We’re announcing more resorts every day leading up to a big announcement Sept. 8. We’ll continue working through the waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. Keep your eyes peeled for an email or text if you have already signed up, and if not, get on it quick.

Adding a new layer of pass options. On one hand, more options are great. On the other hand, if it starts fracturing the Indy Pass resort group it will minimize the appeal of each.

I have a group ski trip planned for February, 3 days at Brighton & Solitude. I was planning on heading out early to use my Indy Pass. I was excited about Beaver Mountain, but just saw the weekend blackouts.

My revised plan would be to fly out Saturday and drive to Logan. Sunday drive to Pebble Creek to ski, Monday drive to Beaver Mountain to ski. Tuesday back to SLC to meet the group.

Pebble Creek is new to the Indy Pass and doesn't have a lot to see online. Does anyone have experience there? And any thoughts on this schedule. I'm new to Indy Pass and new to Utah skiing.

I'm planning a group ski trip for next year. I'd like to do Utah. For several reasons, Snowbasin has jumped to the top of my list. But I keep reading that its not good for beginners.

Most of our group is intermediate to advanced, and I think they will really like it there. At the least there are enough groomers they can enjoy. But we might have 2-3 guys who have only skied a few times in their lives. Would they be bored or frustrated there?
