Hi! I’m 23F and looking to make some new friends in Inverness, but I’m really struggling to find social groups for people around my age 😅

I work Monday–Friday 9–5, so I’m mainly looking for things in the evenings or at weekend (saturday after 3).

I’m into reading, writing, journaling/scrapbooking and generally cosy/creative stuff. I’d also be open to trying something new if it’s beginner friendly!

I’m not really into running, football, climbing or going to the pub just for the sake of meeting people. Ideally I’d love something fairly relaxed where it’s normal to turn up alone and actually get to know people over time.

I’ve already found a few of the Nook events and some local book clubs, but I’m wondering if there are any groups/classes/social things that just aren’t advertised very well online?

Any recommendations would be appreciated 😊

Following today's meeting, I wanted to raise something that has become clear to me.

Due to previous experiences, I find unexpected meetings—whether formal or informal—can cause me a significant amount of distress. I would therefore appreciate receiving advance notice of any meetings wherever possible. This would allow me time to prepare myself and, if I feel it is appropriate, arrange for representation or support to attend with me.

If this is something that could be considered as a reasonable workplace accommodation, I would be happy to discuss it further and work together to find an approach that is practical for everyone.
